The art of deception

Fareed Ahmed ParachA few days ago, I was watching a recorded program called “Faisla aapka” recorded on 8th January 2011 by Samaa News. The topic was tolerance, two participants of religious views and two participants of liberal views were invited to debate on the after math of the incident of 4th January 2011. One of the clerics while defending blasphemy law justifies it from the Holy Qura’an quoting verses from Chapter 33 (Surah Al-Ahzaab).

I was shocked to see that Mr. Paracha (from one of the politico-religious parties) was so confident when he was distorting the verses and the audience was applauding him for that, while the show host and the other cleric (from Sunni Tehrik) was backing him up referring to Chapter 9 of the Holy Qura’an. Let me explain to you what Mr. Paracha was referring to from the Holy Qura’an:

[33:56] Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet. O ye who believe! you also should invoke blessings on him and salute him with the salutation of peace.

[33:57] Verily, those who malign Allah and His Messenger — Allah has cursed them in this world and in the Hereafter, and has prepared for them an abasing punishment.

[33:58] And those who malign believing men and believing women for what they have not earned shall bear the guilt of a calumny and a manifest sin.

[33:59] O Prophet! tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers that they should draw close to them portions of their loose outer coverings. That is nearer that they may thus be distinguished and not molested. And Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful.

[33:60] If the hypocrites, and those in whose heart is a disease, and those who cause agitation in the city, desist not, We shall surely give thee authority over them; then they will not dwell therein as thy neighbors, save for a little while.

[33:61] Then they will be accursed. Wherever they are found, they will be seized, and cut into pieces.

— Surah Al Ahzaab

As you can see here, clearly Mr. Paracha is deceiving the crowd and imposing his views of the Qura’an. What he does is, read the first two verses and then joins verse 61 with verses 57 and 58, which ofcourse changes the entire context of the message. Allah (God almighty) is clearly saying that He alone is the one to punish those who malign Allah and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). To understand the rest of the argument one must know the pretext of this chapter(Surah Al Ahzaab). It deals with the vicissitudes through which Islam had to pass during the early years of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in Medina. The Jews of the surrounding tribes gave a hard time to the Muslims, even those tribesmen who were included in the pact of Medina didn’t leave any opportunity to create mischief. Those are being referred to as hypocrites. The main weapon in their armory against Islam, was spreading of false news to friendly tribes. This was an act of treason not blasphemy, the punishment for treason was capital punishment.

Now let us see what is written in Chapter 9 (Al-Taubah) to which the second cleric is referring to.

[9:12] Will you not fight a people who have broken their oaths, and who plotted to turn out the Messenger, and they were the first to commence hostilities against you? Do you fear them? Nay, Allah is most worthy that you should fear Him, if you are believers.

[9:13] Fight them, that Allah may punish them at your hands, and humiliate them, and help you to victory over them, and relieve the minds of a people who believe;

— Surah Al Taubah

Again, if viewed in context of the verse number 12, it makes total sense. It isn’t directed towards blasphemers, it is clearly saying about those who break their, oaths, these were the Jewish tribes which were included in the pact of Medina. No where in the above two verses does Allah (God almighty) asks the Prophet (peace be upon him) to kill any blasphemer. None of the Muslims try to research the references these clerics give out. This points out to two things, Muslims lack knowledge of the Holy Qura’an and Islamic History and two, they blindly follow what the mullah tells them. It was for times like these the Prophet (peace be upon him) predicted.

“There will be a decline in religious faith and nothing would be left of Islam except its name and nothing would be left of the Holy Qura’an except its text. Mosques though full of worshipers will be empty of guidance. The religious scholars will be the worst creation under the canopy of Heaven”.

(Mishkat-ul Masabih, p.88 & Kanaz-ul Ummal, vol.6 p.43).

[33:57] Verily, those who malign Allah and His Messenger — Allah has cursed them in this world and in the Hereafter, and has prepared for them an abasing punishment.

After Allah has said that HE has already cursed them in this world and hereafter, Who are WE to decide the fate of them. If this explanation is true then Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Jews and other people MUST be killed!

The confusion of non-Muslims is natural because Godless globalization of today emerged in post-Islamic Christendom which was suffering from spiritual chaos due to its lack of reversion to Islam.Hilaire Belloc, a Catholic acknowledges the spiritual chaos of Christendom in the following words:

Islam essentially survives, and Islam would not have survived had the Crusade made good its hold upon the essential point of Damascus.[Hilaire Belloc is wrong in assuming that non-Islamic swords can conquer Muslim hearts] Islam survives. Its religion is intact; therefore its material strength may return. Our religion is in peril, and who can be confident in the continued skill, let alone the continued obedience, of those who make and work our machines? (…) There is with us a complete chaos in religious doctrine (…) We worship ourselves, we worship the nation; or we worship (some few of us) a particular economic arrangement believed to be the satisfaction of social justice (…) Islam has not suffered this spiritual decline; and in the contrast between [our religious chaos and Islam’s] religious certitudes still strong throughout the Mohammedan world lies our peril.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hilaire_Belloc

Hence, the people belonging to historical Christendom are the greatest advocates of sins and disbelief in the world, and this onslaught would have overwhelmed the whole world had The Deen(Religion) of Allaah, not existed.non-Islamic religions will be defeated by this onslaught but Islam will inshaaAllaah withstand it, by the Help of Allaah.

“I don’t know who to believe and who not to believe.”

Only those commanded by Allaah to invite all humanity towards Him can know about what is true Eemaan(Faith).

    Allaah says:

    110. Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah(have Eemaan in Allaah). If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors.

    http://www.englishkuran.com/al-imran-the-family-of-imran/

That’s why People of the Book(Jews and Christians) caused sins and disbelief to prevail in the whole world, and Muslims forgetting their responsibility of Calling humanity towards Allaah(Da’wah il Allaah)- their Creator(Khaaliq).

“If I believe you what reason I have not to believe a Hindu or a Sikh or a Christian or a Jew whose Gods may equally be ready to burn me if I don’t blieve them. Give me one good reason to believe your God and not their God or Bal, or Zeus etc for that matter. After all the existence of these Gods and the Gods of Romnas and Greeks have also not been disproved.”

God of all Prophets,Peace be upon them( all Anbiyaa ‘alaihimus salaam) is the same Allaah, but with the passage of time Shirk and worship of gods and idols other than Allaah like Baal corrupted those religions, so Allaah sent another Nabi Elijah(Ilyaas ‘alaihis salaam) to stop people from worship of Baal and called them to Worship of Allaah. In the end,Allaah sent Nabi Muhammad sall Allaahu ‘alaihi wasallam to end all Shirk from all humanity. So, Allaah tells Muslims to speak to Jews and Christians in this manner:

    46. And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury): but say, “We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; Our Allah and your Allah is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam).”

“With very few exceptions, the religion which a man accepts is that of the community in which he lives, which makes it obvious that the influence of environment is what has led him to accept the
    religion in question.”

It is those exceptions who make the difference. My forefathers may have not been Arabs, and may have been Hindus or Sikhs yet they made difference by accepting Islam.Same is the case with new Western Muslims like this:

“If beihg irrational is a sign of a good Muslim then must you qualify to be an excellent Muslim. I would rather be rational than a good Muslim fires of hell notwithstanding. Thank you very much.”

It is only in Islam where rationalism and religion are in complete harmony.Hence, the most rational people in Islamic history were those who were the most firm believers in Allaah and His Apostle(Rasool) sall Allaahu ‘alaihi wasallam.Ibn al-Nafis rahimahullaah(May Allaah bestow His Rahmah and Mercy upon Him) is a case in point.

However, the the only true rationalism in the sight of Allaah which will lead to Jannah is what Allaah says in Qur’aan.

    10. They will further say: “Had we but listened or used our (Allaah-given) intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!”

Allaah most explicitly refers to Najaat(Salvation) and Straight Path(Siraat-ul-Mustaqeem) to Jannah to all humanity.

    Allaah says:

    25. But Allah calls and invites to the Home of Peace(Jannah after we die and home of peace of heart before we die here in Dunyaa) He doth guide whom He pleaseth to a way that is straight(Siraat-ul-Mustaqeem)

Distortion of Quranic verses is what has brought us to the present state. And the reason that the distorted views prevail is that no one is allowed to discuss religion openly. The minute you say something that contradicts the mullah’s islam, even your closest friend will turn the other way.

  13. Hasnain says:

I despise packing my arguments in religious overtones. But it must be done here. Is this not the actual blasphemy: quoting the Quran out of context, and defaming Islam as well as the Prophet by making false accusations against innocent people. I was forwarded a video by a dear friend of Abbas Athar’s program from Express TV. It’s a 10 minute clip worth watching: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9sfaU3mG6o

We have a mission before us, to expose these hypocrites. One of the biggest challenges to us is that they have a choke-hold over the Urdu media. Unfortunately, an overwhelming majority of the debate for tolerance is being made in the English chattering classes. That is one of the biggest hurdles in reclaiming Pakistan. That’s something for which all of us have to share the blame. The Faiz’, the Habib Jalibs, the Ahmad Faraz’ have all long gone. Even when they were there, they often led lives of persecution and of exile. Until this is fixed and Urdu reclaimed, regardless of what other policies we adopt, little change can be expected.

Society bends over backward to be accommodating to religious sensibilities but not to other kinds of sensibilities. If I say something offensive to religious people, I’ll be universally censured, including by many atheists. But if I say something insulting about Democrats or Republicans or the Green Party, one is allowed to get away with that. Hiding behind the smoke screen of untouchability is something religions have been allowed to get away with for too long.

      • Muhammad Elijah says:

It is strange that a person advocating Kufr of Allaah(Disbelief in Allaah) goes unchallenged here by individuals with Muslim names.

I warn you that if you die without believing in Allaah-The One(Wahid) God, you would suffer Fire of Jahannam(Hell) in Aakhirah(The Hereafter).

        Allaah says in Soorat-ul-Mulk:
        6. For those who commit Kufr of their Rabb(reject their Lord and Cherisher) is the Penalty of Hell: and evil is (such), Destination.

        7. When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth,

        8. Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, “Did no Warner come to you?”

        9. They will say: “Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, ‘(Allah) never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!’”

        10. They will further say: “Had we but listened or used our (Allaah-given) intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!”

        http://www.englishkuran.com/67-al-mulk-the-sovereignty-control/

All non-Islamic religions will embrace Kufr of atheism if they don’t revert to Islam because all non-Islamic religions are dead.

(All you need to know about Christianity)

          • All I need to know about Christianity, about the one True God and His Son Jesus Christ can be found here:

            http://paulmarcelrene.wordpress.com/2010/12/07/who-is-jesus-christ

            the simple oneness of the Hebrew God. Jesus was a Jew from the tribe of Judah. He claimed to be sent to the ‘lost sheep of the house of Israel’.{# Mt 15:24} His apostles were all Jews. His god was the Jewish God. He called himself the Son of God and acknowledged his role as the Christ, {#Mt 16:15-17} and the Messiah. {#Joh 4:25-26} His message was one of love, righteousness, and salvation, and he despised the religious dogma of tradition. What a contrast from the proceedings of the Council of Nicea and the murders that followed! He gave the good news of his coming kingdom to the poor and meek: the lowly of this world. He did not require dogmatic creeds that had to be believed to the word, but rather said, ‘Follow me’.{# Mt 9:9}

There can be no doubt: Jesus was a stranger to all sides of the political proceedings in Nicea. He never claimed to be God, but was content to be God’s son. His creed was not of words that must be followed to the letter, but rather of spirit: ‘Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God’.{# Mt 4:8} He did not require wealthy and learned bishops to mingle philosophy and pagan polytheism with his simple truth, but blessed the ‘poor’ and the ‘meek’.{# Mt 4:1-12} No, it was not from Jesus that the dogma of the Trinity came.

We can conclude without much difficulty that the concept of the Trinity did not come from Judaism. Nor did Jesus speak of a trinity. The message of Jesus was of the coming kingdom; it was a message of love and forgiveness. As for his relationship with the Father, Jesus said, ‘… I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me’,{# Joh 5:30} and in another place ‘my doctrine is not mine, but His that sent me’;{# Joh 7:16} and his words ‘my Father is greater than I’ {#Joh 14:28} leave no doubt as to their relationship.

        • How wrong that non-Islamic religions are called dead. The One True God and His Son Jesus Christ are alive and ruling the heavens and earth. The promise of eternal life, salvation and eternity in heaven with our heavenly father is reserved for only those who believe in The One True God and His Son Jesus Christ. And, God did not send down any prophets after His only begotten Son. Hell is reserved for those who reject The One True God and His Son Jesus Christ.

And no one reverts to Islam. Islam was preceded by Christianity which was preceded by Judaism. Muhammad was the first muslim. No one prior was a muslim. Islam did not exist until developed by Muhammad over six hundred years after the Son of God, Jesus Christ brought the end of the age of prophets and brought the last of God’s revelations to man in that dispensation.

Just a quick note that it is not necessary to respond to these truths with the usual Islamic Apologetics or inaccurate quoting of the Word of God (the Holy Bible) or misrepresentation of Islamic religious texts as found in the Qu’ran, the Hadith, Sunnat or Sunnah.

In the Name of the The One True God and His Son Jesus Christ, Amen.

  16. Mariam says:

Muslims are insecure of their faith, and thats why they are offended for these small things.

    • Muhammad Elijah says:

The Honour(Hurmah) of The Apostle(Rasool) of Allaah,May Allaah Bless Him and grant Him Peace, wouldn’t have been a small thing for Maryam ‘alaihis salaam had she been alive.
